Technicals Department

Message from the Department

This department is headed by Mr.Simeon Nyatika. The department offers four subjects namely; Business studies, Home science, Agriculture and Computer studies. This is a hands on department that involves practicals. The department has eight teachers.
The department has enjoyed great support from the administration in practical papers. The department has been producing very good results in 2020 KCSE the department had a mean score of 5.87 C from the previous 3.47 D in 2019. Home science and agriculture got 7.6 B- and 6.619 C+ respectively in 2020. Home science has three papers, P1, P2 and P3. Paper one is theory work of form one to form four. Paper two deals with clothing and construction. Paper 3 deals with nutrition where students do planning and real cooking.
Agriculture, has three papers P1, P2 and P3. Paper 1 and 2 are purely theory of form 1-4. Paper 3 is practical where learners are expected to do project from January to July that involves crop and animal husbandry.
Business studies is more of theory with both paper 1 and 2 covering form 1 to form 4. Paper 1 is more of short answer question while paper 2 is structured question. Computer studies is still in its initial stage as it’s not examinable in the school. However, plans are underway for it to be examinable. Currently it’s done in form 1 and 2. We look forward to a bright future in the department and we are optimistic to give the best mean score this year 2021 KCSE.
