Message from the Department

Welcome to the Humanities Department at Embakasi Garrison Secondary School Our department consists of three key subjects that play a vital role in shaping students' knowledge and moral values:
1. History & Government
2. Christian Religious Education (CRE)
3. Geography
Subject Selection and Performance
• CRE is a compulsory subject for all students, regardless of their religious background. It is designed to instill good morals and has consistently been one of our best-performing subjects, significantly boosting KCSE results.
• At Form 2, students choose between Geography and History & Government. Many of our students have excelled in these subjects, with A and A- grades being attainable. Dedicated Team of Educators The department is led by a team of over ten TSC-registered and highly qualified teachers who are passionate about their subjects. They foster a spirit of teamwork and commitment to excellence.
Our Head of Institution, Madam Mercy Naulika, is also a CRE teacher and an active member of the department, providing great encouragement and leadership.

To enhance learning and ensure academic success, we provide:
Educational trips and field excursions to offer practical learning experiences.
Workshops and seminars for teachers to stay updated on curriculum developments. Internal symposiums and contests every term, with rewards for top performers during school assemblies.
