Message from the Department

Clubs and societies bring together individuals with shared interests, hobbies or goals, providing students with opportunities to explore their passions beyond the classroom. Embakasi Garrison Secondary School has created a platform for learners to engage in meaningful activities that foster personal development, leadership, creativity and social responsibility.
Meeting Schedule
• Clubs meet every Wednesday.
• Societies meet every Thursday.

There are a total of 15 clubs, each led by dedicated and passionate patrons who guide students in developing their skills and talents.

Message from the Department

Clubs and Their Leadership
1. Debate Club – Led by Md. Penninah Yegon
Organizes debates on various topics, sharpening students' public speaking and critical thinking skills.
2. Art Club – Led by Md. Grace Nyakundi Trains learners in artwork techniques and their significance.
One student designed a unique logo currently used by the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK).
3. Health Club – Led by Md. Purity Mwakini
Conducts discussions on hygiene, mental health, and overall well-being.
4. Scouts and Girl Guides – Led by Md. Bowen Jelagat
Engages students in scouting training and camps, instilling values of patriotism, discipline, and service.
5. Journalism Club – Led by Md. Jackline kendi
Provides opportunities to develop writing, reporting, and media skills.
6. Drama and Music Club – Led by Md. Jackline kendi and Stella Mueni
Showcases students' creativity and talents through performances.
Has competed up to the national level, winning several awards.
7. Kenya Science and Education Fair (KSEF) – Led by Md. Elizabeth Oseko and Mr. Isaiah Aloo
Encourages students to engage in scientific discovery, research and problem-solving.
8. Environmental Club – Led by Md. Leah Kimani
Organizes environmental awareness and sustainability activities.
Collaborates with the Ministry of Environment to plant trees around the school.
9. Young Farmers Club and 4K Club – Led by Md. Ondiek Yunuke
Recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Had the privilege of entertaining the President on June 4, 2021, at Jamhuri Park.
10. The Anointed Singers – Led by Md. Stella Ngere
Provides students with a platform to explore their musical talents while promoting teamwork, creativity and performance skills.
Societies and Their Leadership
The school also has active religious societies that provide students with spiritual guidance and support:
Christian Union (CU) – Led by Md. Florence Senelwa
Catholic Students (CS) – Led by Md. Pauline Warima
Muslim Students Society – Led by Mr. Isaiah Aloo
These societies hold Bible studies, prayer sessions, and worship meetings, creating opportunities for students to reflect on scriptures, discuss spiritual growth, Christian leadership and overcoming life’s challenges with faith.
Through these clubs and societies, students at Embakasi Garrison Secondary School gain exposure to diverse perspectives and experiences, preparing them for leadership roles and personal growth.
