Dean of Students

Mrs. Ziporrah Maina- Dean of Students
Message from the Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students is a newly established department at Embakasi Garrison Secondary School, reflecting the school’s commitment to the overall well-being of its students.
The Dean of Students plays a crucial role in working closely with the administration, teachers, and parents to create an environment that supports students' academic success, personal growth, and holistic development. This ensures that learners can focus on their education while developing into responsible and well-rounded individuals.
Key Responsibilities
The Dean of Students collaborates with various departments to enhance student welfare, including:
• Guidance and Counseling Department – Providing students with emotional, social, and academic support.
• Games Department – Encouraging participation in extracurricular activities to promote physical and mental well-being.
• Clubs and Societies Department – Facilitating student engagement in leadership, creativity and social responsibility.
• Deputy Principal’s Office – Ensuring high standards of discipline are upheld among students.
Student Welfare Initiatives
Recognizing that some students face financial difficulties, loss of parents or other life challenges, the school has established a Students' Welfare Committee. This initiative, coordinated by the Class Patron and the Dean of Students ensures that affected students receive the necessary support to continue with their education.
A notable example of this intervention was the Mradi fire tragedy, where some of our students were impacted. The welfare team provided assistance to those affected, demonstrating the school’s dedication to student support in times of crisis.
Through this office, Embakasi Garrison Secondary School remains committed to nurturing a supportive and inclusive learning environment that allows every student to thrive.
